My Girl Siren Publishing LoveEdge edition by Stormy Glenn Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
A guy disguised as a girl on the run and met Mr Right. Just the type of story line to draw some interest. I was hoping for better writing from Stormy but as usual the characters and plot lack depth, while certain parts of the story are just too convenient. You would have thought the police force is utterly useless! And as typical from this writer, the romance is the usual fluffy sweet type, a light dessert but at least it is not too sweet this time. A little bit of excitement towards the end when the prey, Nicky, confronts the villain. The cast of male strippers entering this last scene certainly spice up the shallow plot after pages of the same old instant attraction, jumping into the sack quickly and undying declaration of love. Seth's character is too under developed and we do not even know what he does for a living..I wonder if the romance would not have been better if Seth's sexuality "turns out the other way". Oh well, as with most of this writer's works, just a sweet romance for light reading and easily forgettable.
I had some reservations about this one. I really liked the concept of the story but I thought it was too empty in the beginning, if that makes sense. You go from Nicky and Seth meeting to Seth automatically loving Nicky a few weeks later and there's no in between so you don't know how their relationship developed and I was a little disappointed with that because I would have liked to know about those in between weeks. However, the more I read, the more I liked it especially when they went back to the scene of the crime and you get to meet all the drag queens. It was a good story and I'm looking forward to a sequel featuring the hunky detective Elliot and hopefully it'll be more detailed on the beginning moments of Elliot and his hero's relationship (of course, that is if there will be a book for him) D

Seth Leighton is a gay man. He is not all confused about his sexuality; he has been comfortably gay all his life. But when he meets Nicky, the new girl at his apartment building, he cannot stop wanting her. Now, that is confusing! How can he suddenly, out of the blue, want a woman? Nicky isn't really a woman; he is Nick and in disguise to hide from the killer who murdered his best friend, leaving Nick the only witness. The more he sees of Seth, the more he wants him. But is Seth straight? And if Nick tells him the truth, will he lose Seth? Moreover, will he put them both in mortal danger?
Stormy Glenn's My Girl is a really intriguing read. I loved the issues this book dealt with, about how we perceive the people we love. If you saw a man and a woman holding hands down the street you would not think twice about it, but if you saw two men doing the same thing, you might have a different reaction.
Nick is masquerading as a woman so the bad guys won't kill him over what he knows, but this disguise is not easy on him. He is a gay man, so when he becomes involved with Seth, he has many things going through his mind. Does Seth love him for himself or because he looks like a woman, making their budding relationship more acceptable? Gay as well, Seth has his own issues with believing that he was falling in love with a woman. Then once he finds out Nicky is a man, he can't tell anyone - not even his parents - which leads to even more complications.
I really appreciated the "love yourself as you are" theme in this book, and I was cheering for Seth and Nick the entire way. Their chemistry just about leaped off the pages, making for a really enjoyable ride from cover to cover.
I really thought that the storyline would be good, but everything ended up so disappointing. Everything happened too fast; the descriptions were short and simple, there wasn't really a lot of heart-clenching romantic things. It was just so plain.
I Loved it it was funny but had an air of mistory to it . hope there is another one like a my girl 2 or something.
This was a great book. I love anything Stormy writes anyways but this series is great.
